Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun in the Solar System. The planet is named after Mars, the Roman god of war. It is also referred to as the "Red Planet" because of its reddish appearance as seen from Earth. A terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, Mars has surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the volcanoes, valleys, deserts and polar ice caps of Earth. In addition to its geographical features, Mars’ rotational period and seasonal cycles are likewise similar to those of Earth. Mars has two moons, Phobos and Deimos, which are small and irregularly shaped.

Wow! I think Mars is so much interesting than a piano! That's cool that it has some of the same land features as the Earth!
MUCH BETTER!!! It is like a mini reasearch paper! I like it.
Mars is also called the "Red Planet" because if you look at it through the telescope and squint your eyes just right, it looks like a red M&M. M&M's, coincidentally, were created by a man named Mars. Forrest Mars Sr. saw soldiers in Spain eating pellets of chocolate encased in a hard sugary coating which prevented them from melting.

Here's a link to a picture of Mars from the Hubble Space telescope. You can see why Mars is sometimes called the "chocolate planet". Try squinting at it to see if you can make out the "M".
Ooops. Here's the link:
